Wireless module not found???

Postby ericpartington » 19 Jul 2004, 16:06

I have added the module necessary for my wireless card ( orinico_cs) to my modules.conf file. At startup it the module is not found. I try find / -name orinoco_cs and it doesnt fine anything. How do i get that module to be loaded at boot? i am guessing that i need to create this module as it doesnt seem to appear on my computer. Thanks for the previous ideas, still working on implementing them.. busy weekend.

oFfhand i thought that the orinico module was included with the YDL kernel; have you tried modprobe orinico to see if modprobe will load it?

I'm new to Linux, so I don't know about kernel modules. Can I compile support for a Linksys WUSB11 (v2.8) into a custom kernel (which I think I could use anyway because the stock one has all kinds of stuff in it that isn't relevant to my hardware)?
