Is there a kernel package available yet to bring YDL4.0 up to 2.6.10? I just yum-updated and the new MOL is looking for 2.6.10 kernel modules.

you can find the 2.6.10 at http://www.ppckernel.org/specialized.php

download it
follow the installation instruction
edit the yaboot.config which is located it /etc
run /sbin/ybin -v

and reboot your machine
If everything went well you should be running kernel 2.6.10

This stand correct. 4.0.1 is available to YDL.net Enhanced account holders and will be made public in about two weeks. Read this message for details:

Puzzling...

This seems a bit odd. 4.0.1 seems to be a bugfix releasej rather than a improvement release, otherwise I would expect a 4.1 revision. I purchased my YDL4 disks some time ago, and some things (like MOL with OS9) have never worked on my G4 system.

In any case, most of the updated packages seem to already be in the "public" yum repo, minus the kernel.

Hmmm...

i think that all of the updates availible for 4.0.1 will be in the public dl for the 4.0 repository
