Kernel 2.4 vulnerability via the ROSE protocol

Postby aguilarojo » 25 Mar 2011, 04:20

An article announcing that the ROSE protocol implemented within Kernel contains security vulnerabilities. Although Red Hat released security advisories which corrected problems found in 2009 affecting PPC64 sources/builds, as well as other architectures - the current announcement by Help Net Security clarifies that the ROSE protocol itself is flawed! It is recommended that the ROSE protocol be completely avoided!
