An article announcing that
the ROSE protocol implemented within Kernel contains security vulnerabilities. Although
Red Hat released security advisories which corrected problems found in 2009 affecting PPC64 sources/builds, as well as other architectures - the current announcement by Help Net Security clarifies that
the ROSE protocol itself is flawed! It is recommended that the ROSE protocol be completely avoided!
