php fopen problem on a G4

Postby viragoLDR » 26 Sep 2006, 11:01

Hi!

I've tried installing various versions of linux on a G4, the idea is to use it as a test database server since mysql and macos isn't the fastest combination it seems.

Everything installs fine (Tried Yellow Dog, Fedora Core 5 and Ubuntu 6.06.1), but no matter what I do, I can't get the fopen function to work in PHP, regardless of which version. It keep saying http request failed. It works fine on the same hardware but with macos, and it works fine on an intel based laptop with the same linux install (except of course that the intel based is running the i386 version of linux ;))

allow_fopen_url is set to "On" in php.ini, the url I'm trying to fopen is a fully qualified url and does work, I've tried disabling selinux for apache, and disabling it completey, but nothing seems to work.

I've gone through countless forums, mailing lists and google searches, but can't find a single thing about a similar problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Regards,
Martijn.
