XServe G4 Dual 1.33 Installation

I thought I would post this to save others in my shoes a small headache...

I have a bunch of XServes whose purpose has been recently eliminated, but I didn't want to trash these very expensive machines. So, I thought maybe I could make them into Linux servers, which currently serve as firewalls, content filters, DHCP servers, MySQL servers, and mail servers in my company. I failed with Ubuntu, but succeeded with YDL. There was one caveat...while the internal DVD drive would allow me to boot the YDL install, there are apparently no drivers in the kernel to talk to the DVD drive. So, I needed 2 install DVDs...one to boot from and another (in an external firewire DVD drive) to install from. In that setup, it worked like a champ. Blows the doors off the same machine running OS X Server 10.3, 10.4, or 10.5 and using RedHat as a base, functions identically to our CentOS boxes. Kudos to the maintainers of this distro!
