The one super power I'm missing now is the ability to upload a new phpBB theme for the board to use -- that would have to done by Terrasoft -- but other than that I can add moderators, create new forums, and put lots of sticky posts up all over the place.

So terrasoft is now hosting the board? The site is a little bit better now. I've been gone for a couple of months after the last time ydl crashed on me. I didn't even feel like bothering reinstalling. There is so much I had on there that I lost.

But now with ydl 6, I see everything is so much better. When did you hit the 5th apple mark? I mean which post #?

Also, I don't know exactly if this is a board issue or computer/network issue. But I've had problems staying logged on the board. For instance, I posted something about 7zip on the Playstation 3 forums, and someone replied. I wanted to go reply back, but it took me to the login page. So i logged in, and it takes me to the login successful page. After that it goes directly back to the login page.

I didn't think i could post on this thread at first. I'm not sure if it's our network or not. I'm at a community college and they have all sorts of security settings that may affect the cookies on my computer; i'm not sure. I have this same problem over at psxextreme.com as well, which is why i'm thinking it might be an issue on my end. But then, I turn around and have the same issue at home, with both sites. So, I don't know...

Yes, it's now hosted by Terrasoft, but still community driven. I never had YDL suddenly "crash" on me for no apparent reason (to the point where I couldn't reboot and log in) but I've hosed up a number of installs in the process of figuring things out.

At 2,000+ posts I was still at four ... didn't get the fifth one until becoming an admin and changing my rank settings. Anyway, it makes no real difference, just a silly thread I started.

I've looked at what settings I can and have experienced some similar issues with becoming logged out unexpectedly, but can't say for sure what's causing it. I've already emailed the Terrasoft Systems Administrator (Christopher Murtagh) about it to see if he can help out.

don't worry about the connection thing. I think it really does have to do with the campus wide security settings. this isn't the only place i have problems staying logged on. i also have this problem with psxextreme.com (btw you should check em out for all your ps3 news!). then again, they've also been going through some technical difficulties in the last few months, so maybe i'm not so sure.

all i know is that right now i'm at home on ydl 6 and i'm staying logged on fine. so don't even worry about it. when i'm at work i should be working, right? i'm gonna be ultra busy the next few months anyways. I got a intro to computer course i'm teaching for 5 weeks, along with an annual grant report to compile for the department of education. whoopiee!!! {sarcasm}.

That sounds like fun ... my first intro to computer course actually taught BASIC , and then the second one used FORTRAN , and then I took another one that used C (finally). The first two were about uh ... 15+ years ago.
