Vegas Bound

Postby Taellik » 05 Jan 2009, 12:36

I'm headed to Las Vegas last week of February. I'll be staying downtown at Fitzgerald's Casino and Hotel on Fremont Street.

If you'll be in Vegas same time frame, hit me with an e-mail off-list and we'll try to hook up and make some money at a table there.

Still headed to Vegas? Just remember: "You're so money and you don't even know it!" :P (quote from the movie "Swingers")

Sure am Billb...2 days to go and all set to make money at the tables during the day  and have fun with the ladies at nite. . .

p.s. Swingers was a stupid movie...get Casino instead with DeNiro, Pesci, and the attention getting "spead'em" Sharon Stone...that's a Vegas movie !!!
I'd give you a Pesci quote from the movie but it'd just be censored  ..but if you saw the movie, it'd be a quote from when Pesci is playing blackjack/21  fuuny stuff..but he's a funny kinda guy - watch it on You Tube !

Yeah Casino is a classic -- a very different kind of movie than Swingers, though. I remember being so surprised at how tough Pesci could be -- scary 'lil guy! :o I don't think I'd call him (his character) funny to his face!

If you saw Goodfellas you'd see how he handles it when Ray Liotta makes a crack about him being funny.

Trip Report Prev:Vegas Bound

Postby Taellik » 27 Feb 2009, 16:25

Flew non-stop ( gotta love Southwest Airlines ) from "burn in hell you gambling scum" bible-thumping North Carolina and stayed at Fitzgerald's on Fremont Street - clean setting, no illegals doing hooker bar ****** card flicking at you like on the Strip. But the illegals now have flat screen tv's strapped to their backs like sandwich boards advertising the hookers for the little kids to see their silicon cleavage in hi-def !

Games :
----------
Blackjack - $2 min tables available. Pays 3:2; 6:5 payoffs on Strip. The "Binion Babes" were smok'in hot dealing so was better to just watch and ogle the dealers and wait for the "regular" dealers for blackjack/21 tables to cool down if you were going to play that game.

Craps - $5 min tables available, 12 pays triple. Strip casinos only pays double for the 12 - ripoffs!

Roulette - $2 chip table available.

Mini-Baccarat - $5 min available.

Pai-Gow Poker - $5 minimum available, also optional bets such as "Insurance" and "Emperor's Challenge ( Watch the dealer when playing ! Got shorted on a commission conversion and also hand resolution of my 3 of a kind in my 5-card hand beat the dealer's pair in the dealer's 5-card hand. I stopped game play and made dealer pull hand from discard to show my hand should have be ruled a "push" and not a loss. Dealer was rushing to deal hands to the table to get as high a turnover as possible.

Texas Hold'em Bonus - $5 minimum available

Three Card Poker - $5 minimum available

In conclusion, Strip casinos were avoided for any gameplay..table minimums were too high, payoffs were player-unfriendly ( i.e. double for 12 in craps ). Casino time spent was for reconnassiance of the gaming offered ( Chuck-a-Luck at NYNY ! )

All my gaming was downtown at Fitzgerald's, Binion's, Golden Nugget, and 4 Queens this trip.

Good stuff :) I don't know about Vegas but maybe we could get a trip together for Atlantic City  ... my brother goes there all the time and can bring guests into certain places where you get free food & drinks. He says sometimes the cab ride from the airport to where he stays is more expensive than the round-trip flight!

And wow, flat-screen TVs strapped to back? LOL

AC ( Atlantic City ) isn't really the best of places to go to make money at the casino tables. You'd do better to just wait & save your $$$ for a trip to Vegas. There are all kinds of cut-throat deals being offered to go there! :D And, there are ways to get free food & drinks there also. <burp>

As far as the flat-screens...yeppers ! Freaky as hell to see. Hookers going hi-tech to panhandle on the corners now . . .

My brother won $10,000 in a Texas Hold'em tournament in AC, though I couldn't possibly hope to do the same (and he's been back quite a few times since then and hasn't won anything like that again, either). Can you imagine the phone call(s) I got that night? LOL
