but time and a faulty solder connection to the lcd drive IC took care of that one (i want to open it up and fix it but dont have the hotair reflow station to do it properly) so currently dont have a apple system - I have a ppc based embedded board but I rolled my own LFS for that one as its my NAS. I should start hanging around here again though - a lot of linux knowledge is cross-distro see if/where i can start helping again

Indeed. These days we have very few Mac users posting -- many new members are trying out Linux for the first time on their PS3's. I'm hoping to get an older Mac G4 sometime this year ... as it stands it's difficult for me to help out with Mac related issues on YDL.
