I was thinking, could you make the downloads forum member accessible only? Because otherwise the potential for the links being "leeched" is quite high, never know when a bot might pass by the download links, archive them or even download them to another server and just in general with all the guests that come here they can cause alot of resource consumption and I believe making it members only would not only be a nice incentive for guests to register but it would cut down on the leeching. So what do you think?

ok, I know in IPB all you have to do is change the forum permissions so that only members can view and read posts in the forum...guess phpbb hasn't got that feature....

Id prefer not to make it that strict; I see no problem w/ people being able to read the forum (even if theyre not registered) but we've made it so you need to be registered to post (mainly to keep a track of whos who and have a better count of active/preticipating members). As for permission to a single topic I'm not sure if it can be done w/o making a usergroup and adding everyone into it (that would most likely have to bee discused w/ kamika)
