"Content Protected" cds

Postby StarKnight83 » 31 Aug 2005, 14:07

After much patient waiting for a new cd to be released from my fav. band I finally ordered and recieved the new cd. Well on arrival much to my dismay and disappointment the cd is "content protected" and as such has a list of supported devices and OS. Well ppc linux isnt listed as supported - surprise surprise (and nuked the osx partition long ago-lost install disks) so Im not sure if I'll be able to play it (havent openned it yet) Im writing to inquire if anyone here has such a cd (mines from Virgin Records and has Content Protected on the cd case) and what it took to get it to play under linux if at all. Also what would my options (legal or otherwise) on getting a refund and reimbused shipping for purchasing the cd as the "content protected" stuff isnt listed anywhere on the site or page for the disk. (false pretenses perhaps)
