setting up internet for a friend

Postby jb_37091 » 19 Nov 2009, 22:17

My friend is getting his internet turned on tomorrow by att. He's getting it for his ps3 and does not have a computer. He's getting the same package as i have so i know how to set it up, but i was wondering if i could use ydl on my ps3 to set it up for him as opposed to taking my p.c. He has a slim so we cant put ydl on his if it's even possible to set up a router on ydl anyways.
Any help would be appreciated.

Assuming the GameOS browser and/or Internet Setup won't get the job done, yes your PS3/YDL should work fine for that. Better check what kind of display will be used first and make sure you're set to a supported mode before you arrive.

I have AT&T FastAccess DSL and Belkin's N+ Wireless Router and had to set the DSL modem/router to bridged mode to get NAT2. No amount of fiddling with a direct connection between the PS3 and the modem/router (Motorola 2210-02) was getting me NAT2, though I didn't pursue it too much since I have other PCs and a second PS3 that need access as well.
