There's a blurb about it on low end mac:

Here's Apple's reference:

Thanks for posting those links - very helpful! :D

Thanks much Paul. May your project move from concept into a functioning system.

All the best...

... I might have to do it in 128 Gig chunks. But - I'm having fun - that's the main thing, right?. :D

Way to go Paul!!

I know there's a relationship to the processing capacity of the CPU and how much of any hard drive it can "see", or an analog of some relationship which I've forgotten across the years. Would you be kind enough to share the algorithm??

ppietro wrote:BTW - I had a hard time finding YDL 3.0 disc images. I finally found some here:

I know some folks on this board have an alternate FTP site for images. Does anyone remember what that site is? We should sticky it here on the board.

Try this link to point yum to it: http://ftp.caliu.cat/pub1/distribucions/yellowdog/yum/

To acquire the .iso files go here: http://ftp.caliu.cat/pub1/distribucions/yellowdog/iso/

I did not discover the caliu server first another person did, you can see that thread here: http://yellowdog-board.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7225

The only useful thing is just the link...

Hi everyone,

Went to play with the StarMax a little more today - first free day I've had in a while - and it won't turn on.

Luckily, I know why.

http://lowendmac.com/moto/3000.shtml

Tanzania-based computers will not boot with a dead PRAM battery. Try replacing the battery before attempting to replace the power supply on a "dead" StarMax.

So - off to get a new battery. No StarMax today. :D

Cheers,
Paul

Hey Paul, close is better than nothing at all!! I think that once it's up and running you'll be a happier Tech-Mage.
All the best...

May be its my internet problem or any thing else...

Hi Linuxy!

I checked the link Paul provided regarding the Starmax, it appears they modified their website in some minor way. Regardless of their modifications the details regarding the StarMax 3000 remains on that page! Just scroll down when you view that website and you should see it.

All the best...
