I would love to help you....however its very difficult to try and decode what you typed...let me take a crack at it though...

Are you trying to say that you couldnt install the RPM file from an SD Media card, and that you couldnt get it from an online source?

If you are trying to install an RPM file, it must be a PPC64 version too many people come from the windows world where everything is x86 and do not fully realize that there is more hardware out there than x86. PPC64 is not x86, check the architecture of the RPM you wish to install. An RPM will usually, if installed via a console, give you a warning if its not the right arch.

The following site contains information on where to get, and how to install the program you mentioned.

thedevilsjester: please post only relevant links. He needs to understand how to mount a drive

chintups2: here are 2 links that should help http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/solutions/ydl_4.1/usb-firewire.shtml <--that one will show you how to mount a drive (it will also apply to the sdcard) and this one --> http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/support/solutions/ydl_5.0/yum.shtml will fix the package manager configuration

Hope that those links will help you chintups2

Not once, in his post, does he _ever_ ask how to mount a drive. He asks how to get the file.

The link I posted, contains the howto page with the file link. That is how you get the file. It is completely relevant.

Maybe you have a better gibberish translator than I do, but I didnt see any question about how to mount the SD or other drives. What I did see was "or get form online" which I took as, he couldnt get the file from an online source, so I directed him to an online source that has the file. I dont see how you could consider that irrelevant. Maybe by 'online' he really meant 'yum' but without any more to go on, I posted what I figured he wanted.

No insult intended to the user, who I assume (I hope) is ESL.

ppc64 and not ppc32 ?
I find this confusing:

$ uname -m
ppc64

Yet, when checking the size of the data types:

$ ./a.out
sizeof(void*) == 4
sizeof(int) == 4
sizeof(long) == 4
sizeof(bool) == 1

And checking the binaries on the system:

$ file /bin/bash
/bin/bash: ELF 32-bit MSB executable, PowerPC or cisco 4500, version 1 (SYSV), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, stripped

It is unclear to me, wether this is a 32 bit or 64 bit PPC environment.

Bram: It's a mixed 32 / 64 bit environment. The kernel is 64 bit, some other parts are 64 bit. Most binaries are 32 bit.
