I read that you CAN view YDL on a normal tv, so I downloaded the Xautoconfig and still cannot figure it out. It says it'll write a file and then edit another one called /etc/inittab. And when I do type it in, it says Permission Denied. Here's a link to a screen shot I took showing what it says. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it. Thanks. http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a12/mhornet18/DSC00065.jpg
Your problem is you are not trying to EDIT that file, you are trying to EXECUTE it. Since its a settings file, and not a program, bash is yelling at you.
To edit it, you need to open it with a program, such as
vim /etc/inittab or editdiff /etc/inittab work too. Once you're in the editor, you can move around with a cursor, and press i to start editing, Esc to stop editing, and type :wq or :exit to close the file.
While its possible to view any Linux, including YDL, an a normal television, it's not a very nice experience. It's like trying to ride a motorbike at high speed inside a small closet.
