Cannot connect to install a program...

I cannot install a Linux based program onto the PS3 from the web. When I attempt to download and then install the software, an error message appears and states "unable to retrieve software information." If anyone could help me, it would greatly be appreciated.

Well since my GF is still playing Viva Pinata on the Xbox, I can't login to the PS3 YDL to see if the yum problem is related. But view the Yum not working thread, make the changes to the config files for it if you haven't already?

I will tell you how i did it step by step. Open up nautilus(the brown folder icon) and double click on file system on the left. Now double click on the etc folder, now scroll down to the last folder which should be called yum.repos.d (not the yum folder, the next one that ends in .repos.d) double click to go into that folder. Once inside of that folder you should see 3 files; yellowdog-base.repo yellowdog-extras.repo and yellowdog-updates.repo. Now open up the first one(yellowdog-base.repo) erase all the text in it(everything!) and paste the following.(you can also highlight everything and paste over it if you did not know).

Now save the file close it then open up the next file(yellowdog-extras.repo) erase all the text in it and paste the following.

Once again save the file then move on and open up the third file(yellowdog-updates.repo) erase all the text in it and paste the following.

Make sure to save!!! After doing this you should have no problems. It worked for me and hopefully it will for you too.
