At the risk of sounding like a complete idiot...

I am getting a ps3 with yellow dog linux pre-installed. I am going to start learning the programming language this year so i can start making basic videogames, which will help me with advanced stuff later. I have never owned a computer in my life so i don't understand most of the stuff you guys talk about. :?

I want ask exactly what i have to do to use Yellow Dog to its full advantage. I need to know how much internet costs, if i need any sort of protection like an anti-virus software if i'm going onto the internet with my ps3, and i also ask for any help you can give me as a newbie using c++, if any of you know anything about that. Any help would be appreciated.

You probably should take some formal coursework. Hopefully ydl has every correct setting for its firewall... although there may have been some questions on this... in general Linux is much safer than Windows.
