I saw a ppc rpm on the site, but I'm assuming it is for suse, also. It wouldn't install -- dependency errors. So either it requires packages not available to YDL, or ones with different names, at least.

One way to figure out the alsa installation is:
rpm -qa|grep alsa

The disable alsa input (--disable-record-alsa) is probably a switch to add to ./configure. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about gstreamer and portaudio support on the PS3, though. :)

Step by step help, I'm afraid. :)

Cheers,
Paul

it's seems that I got an error with gstreamer

and since I made the update with kernel 5.0.2 I can't move the volume anymore and I got this error

Le contrôleur de volume ne trouve aucun élément et/ou périphérique à contrôler. Cela signifie que soit vous n'avez pas les bons greffons GStreamer installés, soit vous n'avez pas de carte son configurée.

maybe this is why my last error ? no ?

I got news about gsteamer

gst_element_seek_simple was introduced with gstreamer 0.10.7 and as far as I can find, ydl (Yellow Dog Linux) is embedding the 0.10.4 gstreamer version.

can I update it ?

I talk with creators of ultrastar NG and what they concluded :

in fact we faces many problems at once ;)
- - old libraries (gstreamer, alsa, etc.)
- - specific arch (powerpc)
- - usb microphone

any idea to resolve some of these problems ?

Hi Jaycounet,

You already posted your version of alsa in the other souceforge forum: 1.0.11-4.rc2 . That's what the rpm -qa|grep alsa tells you. You could try an rpm -qa|grep gstreamer and see if that comes up with anything. :)

Here's what we're doing. rpm -qa lists all of the software installed on your system via RPM. Since that's a really long list :) we use the | grep to pipe the output of the rpm -qa to the grep command, which matches patterns.

You can always use the man command to help with this. man grep for instance.

Hope this helps! :)

Cheers,
Paul

I don't know if this will help or not, but you could try it. (installing gstreamer-plugins-ugly)
