there are 3 error logs/dumps, this one core.20090907.173701.5273.0001.dmp is 31 MBs and there is a txt file that can be read, I suppose I'm just curious to know what if anything is wrong

bonedome wrote:Hello Paullike I said it seems to work ok, I'll try removing the link to java 5 and link to 6 instead and see what the output is then.
- Code: Select all
[b@localhost ~]$ which java
/usr/local/bin/java
edit: well the output is the same only with references to java 6 instead
hmmm I might head off to the ibm website and download a fresh rpm and see what 'appens
edit 2: downloaded and installed slightly newer versions of 5 and 6 removed and remade symbolic links to /usr/local/bin and /usr/lib/mozilla/pugins (java 5) and the clock at http://www.time.gov/timezone.cgi?Central/d/-6/java works fine, but the output of java -version is still the same, there's been lots of talk of "tinkering" on the ps3 slim thread lately, maybe I've "tinkered" somewhere I shouldn't have still it works so I'll probably leave it alone, still confusing though
