I suppose I could boot to KDE and try superkaramba but I'd like to try gkrellm in englightenment since that's the GUI I like. Also, I log into my YDL box with root and a user acct. Would I need to install these under each acct. Thx for any/all info.
I'm running gkrellm in YDL 6.2. It (gkrellm and other applications you've installed) are available from within any of the desktops available for YDL. So whether you use KDE, XFCE, Gnome, Enlightenment or other desktop you may compile/install -- the applications will appear within the menu structure of that desktop environment. Setting gkrellm to operate within every virtual window of a desktop environment can be challenging to learn (if the number x >= 2 virtual desktops are in use) as each different desktop environment behaves differently from the others. This often ignored fact may explain why gkrellm may appear in one desktop but not all; because KDE, XFCE, Gnome, nor any other environments invoke or utilize virtual desktops exactly the same way. This means you'll have to pay attention to how you settings you use within gkrellm.
