problems with external HDD

Hi,

I am having trouble with my USB external HDD in YDL. It is formatted fat32 and I have no problems accessing the contents through the playstation XMB

When I try and navigate to it in nautillus (YDL 6.09) it takes forever to show the contents and then I cannot write to the drive at all.

Any ideas?
