Hi,

I am a complete n00b to Linux and wondered if someone can please please please tell me how to run this test after downloading it from the fixstars site.

Yeah, I know it is just a shell script, but how the hell do I run it.

Oh, it is ps3_video_test that I am referring too.

Someone please help, my eyes cant take this screen much longer!

That script doesn't work very well. It also just tests your screen - it doesn't set your screen.

However - if you feel you must run it, you'll need to switch to a text mode (Ctrl-Alt-F1), login as root user, use cd to navigate to the file download directory (typically /home/your login name/Desktop) and execute it with ./ps3_video_test.sh

Odds are the executable bit on the script isn't set:

Can someone upload this script for me? I'd like to be able to use its "prints a bar of stars" so that I can see how the resolutions look on my TV, but I'm getting an access denied when I try to Download it.
