there's a thread on this forum (somewhere) on how to convert a video so it's compatible with the psp using ffmpeg, it is completely command line based and likely to scare a few people off, but there is a graphical front called avidemux which I discovered here http://www.yogarine.net/2007/12/convert ... linux.html along with some top tips.
Of course avidemux can be used to convert most video formats, so if you're having problems watching hd quality vids or need to reduce the file size etc, this could be the tool for you. Unfortunately you're going to have to build it yourself, although it's actually pretty straight forward.
Ok first thing click on this link and save http://sourceforge.net/project/download ... ror=heanet
you can save it to your desktop, home or source building file,
open nautilus file manager and right click on the tar.gz file and choose "extract here"
avidemux needs a program called cmake to build it and if you haven't already got it ffmpeg, cmake is available from fedora extras repo so

yum install cmake ffmpeg
Next right click on the avidemux_2.4.4 file and choose "open in terminal" then type

cmake .
then
- Code: Select all
make
Then if you're not already root user
- Code: Select all
su -
root password
cd /home/joebloggs/whereyourfileis/avidemux_2.4.4
make install
That's it
I use fluxbox so add this line to your .fluxbox/menu

NOTE: I've just checked gnome and it doesn't seem to appear in the menu so to run it, open a termial and type

Now all I need is a big enough memory card for my boy's psp £££s
