Compile asix AX88772 driver

Hello. I am using a USB to LAN adapter in PS3 running YDL 6.1 with Linux kernel 2.6.28-0.ydl61.1.
The USB to LAN adapter is a PLANEX UE-200TX-G. I believe the chipset is an ASIX AX88772. It loads the usbnet and asix modules when I compile the driver always failed. So, I am hoping someone could walk me through on building and compiling the driver from the manufacturer's website below because I want to give it a try and see if it is different from the asix.ko module that comes with YDL.
