Hi everyone,
Ever tried searching for something on our forums, only to be denied because the word is too common?
For example - a search for USB Install yields this error message:
"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: install usb.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 3 characters and must not contain more than 14 characters excluding wildcards."
Well - I figured out a way around it.
Wildcard your search like so: USB* Install*
Now, I get results like this:
"Search found 376 matches: usb* install*"
See? Much better!
This isn't a complete fix - you still need to pick your wildcard search terms carefully. Complete words work the best for this wildcard trick. For example USB* is a good choice, because it's not part of a longer word - it's usually used just by itself - usb. Install* is just an okay choice, because install* also picks up installed, installer, installing, etc. Luckily, those wildcarded words are still relevant to my search.
Cheers,
Paul
