YDL 6.2 USB controllers

So I finally actually tried to play a rom today with my fresh 6.2 upgrade but it didn't work.

I looked up dir /dev/input and saw a js0 on there, pretty sure the only thing on was my ps3 controller. So I ran a jstest of js0 but I didn't get any action, even though it was plugged in directly thru the usb slot. I know I had some trouble in 6.1 with 3 things plugged in via usb (mouse keyboard controller) but usually it just went over the mouse/keyboard when I connected the controller. Has anybody ran into this problem or perhaps have some insight for me?

(sorry if this question has been touched on, I searched these forums but I didn't see anything)

EDIT: Nvm I got it to work. Apparently you still have to press the ps button even if it is connected via usb cable.
