Maybe you're using the wrong version of Java?
(FrostWire is tested against and works best with with Sun's JRE, Java 1.4+)
The version of Java in your PATH is:
java version "1.6.0"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build pxp3260sr5-20090529_04(SR5))
IBM J9 VM (build 2.4, J2RE 1.6.0 IBM J9 2.4 Linux ppc-32 jvmxp3260sr5-20090519_35743 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled)

Your Java looks okay - but just to be sure - can I see the output of these two commands (from a terminal window)?

which java

and

java -version

Your error looks like this persons:
http://www.yellowdog-board.com:80/viewt ... 630#p24247

But that was caused by having GCJ Java as the default instead of IBM's Java.

I posted a complete setup guide to Frostwire here:
http://www.yellowdog-board.com:80/viewt ... 111#p12117

You might see if that helps. Where did you download Frostwire from, anyway? Did you use the RPM? There were issues with some of the newer Frostwires. The version I mention in my post should work.

Cheers,
Paul

alternatley you may want to give the program transmission a try. Search for the thread and if your gonna try compiling it make sure you have your build environment setup correctly first, using the guide in the beginners forum "compiling step by step" or something along those lines. It maybe in one of the repos not to sure. If it is it would just be:
Code: Select all
yum install transmission
from the terminal. The program is small and very lightweight (good for ps3 :) )

Okay - your Java looks fine. At this point, I would try an older version of Frostwire. Try 4.13.5. There are problems with newer versions of Frostwire and PS3 Linux.

Try this one:
http://main3.frostwire.com/frostwire/4. ... noarch.rpm

Sorry - we don't allow double posting of questions in our forums. Also - the last post on this thread was in 2009 - it's long dead.

I've answered this question in your other post here:

Locking this thread.
