Snes9x, Sixaxis and getting joypad buttons to stay

Hello, I got Snes9x and my Sixaxis working via Bluetooth. My only problem is everytime I start Snes9x and load a game, I have to reset the Joypad button configuration. Hitting Ok or Apply saves it for the session, but next time I go into YDL and Snes9x I have to reset via Options -> Preferences SNES joypads, Buttons. How do I get them to stick permenantly? And this isnt as important, but its wierd when I am setting the buttons, I set one button and the cursor jumps ahead and sets other buttons, and sets them to the wrong button even. Like I set button A, it jumps Ahead and sets B to another button that isnt correct. Any thought here would be great! YDL rocks!
