booting PS3 from CD

Hi,

I am not very familiar with Linux. I have PS3, and I installed Fedora7 on it a while ago. Now I have a problem rebooting it. This is message that I get when I switch it on

Kboot:
/init: eval: 1 : /vmlinux-2.6.21-1.3194.fc7: not Found

Can any one help. By the way, I have data in the root directory, and I want to at least get a copy of that data before I reformat the disk if it is nescessary.

billb - do you know if fc7 uses kboot.conf, or yaboot.conf?

I was asking our other site administrator - billb - a Fedora configuration question. He uses Fedora for PS3 sometimes - he might know offhand. Before I have you do anything, I'm researching to see if we can help you or not.

See, Fedora and YDL have little in common anymore, I'm afraid. Ever since YDL 6.0, we are now based off of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (via the CentOS recompile). Red Hat Enterprise and Fedora run about 3 versions apart. Currently, we're the equivalent of RHEL 5.x, which is roughly Fedora Core 6.

It uses yaboot.conf.
