video chat for ydl 6.2

is there a video chat service i can use or maybe a voice chat service that i can use for ydl 6.2 on ps3???

The application is called ekiga ... it may already be installed. If not, just yum install ekiga

It will work with the PS3 Eyetoy camera's microphone if you have one of those. We haven't been successful in getting it to work with the Eyetoy camera yet, and I don't have any other webcams to use for testing.

I've tried cheap USB cameras - i get a USB poll using v412 telling me where it is and what it is (camera info). No success at getting it to work with any application. The el cheapo camera ($5 at a gas station) works perfectly on my G4 Macintosh using a PPC version of MacCam (freeware). I can't find the source code anywhere. With a little bending, I'm sure it could be made to work. I have not contacted the MacCam site admin, yet. I've used MacCam since 2005. It worked perfect with yahoo. It would be nice to develop that program for YDL.

OK ekiga was alreeady installed... um whats the version odf it as there are many versions out there. also everytime i run it i get a bug and it stops working. i dont know what to do

To determine what version is installed from the command line / terminal window, use:

rpm -q ekiga

As far as the bug you're having trouble with, you know you'll have to be more specific than that ...

well what its says is that it couldn't load the icon from the open folder. i tried to copy what bug buddy says but it doesnt let me for some reason. but that is what my terminal said after the program crashed.
