Pidgin 2.6.6

i tried to download the new pidgin 2.6.6 from the pidgin website but when i installed the pidgin repo it say that it couldnt find it. i tried download source and compiling but it kept on asking for more and more. it needed farsight which i download the source for and successfully compiled but it didn't recognize it when i tried to compile again. so i said screw it and used --disable-vv to skip it but now it says it needs MEANWHILE. this is getting hard so any help with this would be greatly appreciated. like if someone wants to compile for fun and show me what you did. i wanted to use the voice and video with pidgin. oh yeah it also said it needed gtkspell so if yhou know what version i should use please help.

Yeah, pidgin's configure script acts a bit differently, instead of automagically disabling an optional feature if you don't have the dependencies, it has to be disabled manually. Annoying. you'll want to run the configure as follows:

./configure --disable-missing-dependencies That will skip missing dependencies instead of aborting configure

That should do the trick.

I suspect that VV support wouldn't work on YDL on the PS3 due to the USB audio bug that prevents USB microphones from working even if you have the dependencies.
