Games at name your own price for charity, can we run them?

Postby Musoka Eimin » 05 May 2010, 03:31

So I saw this and I thought it was an awesome cause so I wanted to help spread the word.
http://www.wolfire.com/humble
Name your own price for a bundle of five DRM-Free Indie games for Mac, PC, or Linux. Donations go to the EFF (awesome!) Childs Play (Sounds like a good cause) and the Developers. You can choose who you donate to and how much.
Now, I'm not just giving them free advertising, I have a question. :D I'm wondering if any of this maybe might run on PS3 YDL? I'm guessing no for at least two of them. I realize probably nobody knows for sure, but I'm curious if anyone has experience with any of these, and also what more experienced people think may work. I have messed with a couple of emus, but I haven't tried to run games on YDL. Sale is on for the next week so answers soon would be awesome.
Thanks yas

Quick answers:

1. World of Goo - Looks like Intel binary files for Linux. Mac version mentions PowerPC, but that won't work for YDL.
2. Aqauria - requires OpenGL. Also appears to be Windows only.
3. Gish - Windows only
4. Lugaru - requires 3D card. Also - Linux version Intel only.
5. Penumbra - apparently requires 3D acceleration. Appears to be Intel only.

Sorry this isn't better news for YDL folks. :(

Cheers,
Paul

Bummer, guess I will go with PC versions for now until I startup Linux on one of my x86 machines. :| I know nothing of running games on Linux. Knew we didn't have openGL, and knew 3d was out, but I had hoped one or two would work.
Thanks as always for your response Paul
