What the hell is wrong with my keyboard?

Okay, when I press certain keys on my keyboard, it comes in a diffrent key, eg

When I press " I have to press @ or " comes out as @. That make sense?

My keyboard type is United Kingdom, so what do I do?

Damn, I have just realised that I am sitting with the same issue as you are for more than a year
It really annoys me, especially when I practice C language.

Switch to a US style keyboard I have had no such issue's with any of the keyboards I have used, all of whih were US style...

@Jay: You mean buy a new keyboard right? If so that's not a possibility since no where near here sells US Keyboards.

Well thats what ordering over the internet is for, probably get one pretty cheap with a fair shipping price considering they are moderately light in weight!

Unfortuenatley I do not have a credit card and I highly doubt I'd be allowed my step dads.

If you're using Gnome, there is a way to customize it, I think.

I'm not at my PS3 right now - I'm using CentOS, which YDL is based on - but in Gnome there is a Keyboard Preferences control panel application that has a Layouts tab. You can click Add and you should be able to find your keyboard in there.

UPDATE: it looks like a version of this control panel application is available in YDL's default E17 environment as well. (YDL) --> Applications --> System Tools --> Keyboard

i just bought my mac 16keys(i think) keyboard at office depot, and 3 weeks later i have to lift it, tilt it a certain way, cuz dats the only way working it. oh well, wat eles you expect from a 20$ keyboard...probable a $20 keyboard from office depot
