Auto-Start Programs After Login?

is there a way i can do this? i'd like to auto start Deluge BitTorrent and Pidgin. Thanks in advance.

You have to add the commands to launch the programs to one of the 2 files below, I have not been on my YDL install in a bit so memory might be slightly off, But the general idea is to add the command you would use to launch the said program from the terminal, Make sure to use the full path though.

Should open one of the files below and add the command I believe /etc/inittab is the one. Would add a line something like this to start pidgeon, /usr/bin/pidgeon <<<<< add that line to the inittab and assuming the path is correct to the executable it should open upon startup.

/etc/rc.d/rc.local
/etc/inittab

jaybps3 - the methods you outlined - inittab & rc.local - are good for system level programs - but I think they might fail if a GUI is required. Also, I think the question is more for autostart at login, not necessarily at startup. (Although - if there's only one user on the system - that might be one and the same.)
