I don't believe Opera is in PS3Bodega. I think you have to download it from Opera directly, since it's not open source.

Try here:

http://www.opera.com/browser/download/

It should figure out what system you're on, and provide the appropriate download. You're looking for PowerPC, default package and CentOS.

If you already have an old Opera installed, you can update it from a terminal window. Switch to root user with su, then update it with the rpm command:

Code: Select all
rpm -Uvh opera-10.61-6430.ppc.rpm

And - yeah - these don't look right at all.

According to the guide here:
http://pleasantfiction.ipower.com/bodeg ... ?f=28&t=21

You should have these:
Code: Select all
Loading "installonlyn" plugin
Loading "protectbase" plugin
repo id              repo name                                 status
PS3Bodega            PS3Bodega.com YellowDog Compatible Packa  enabled
base                 Yellow Dog Linux 6 Base                   enabled
extras               Yellow Dog Linux 6 Extras                 enabled
fedora-extras        Fedora Extras                             enabled
updates              Yellow Dog Linux 6 Updates                enabled

That's for YDL 6.0, but 6.1 is similar.

In addition, I don't think PS3Bodega repos for YDL 6.0 or 6.1 are being updated anymore:

The 6.0 and 6.1 versions of the repo will no longer be updated.

Only PS3Bodega repos for 6.2 are being updated, if I understand the site correctly. (billb, does this sound right?)

So - that might be why you're not finding Minitube there.

Paul

That's correct -- the previous versions 6.0 and 6.1 are no longer updated. Also, the 6.2 version is untested with anything but YDL 6.2. The 6.2 version does include opera, minitube, etc.

EDIT: I should add that none of the official or third-party repos are going to receive any more updates for YDL 6.1, and for YDL 6.2 the only one getting updates from this point on is the 6.2 version of ps3bodega (since official support has ended for YDL 6.2 as far as I know).

Yes

There is a guide here:
http://www.ydl.net/resources/

Minor (dot release) Version Upgrade
If you desire to upgrade from YDL v6.x to YDL v6.y (for example), this is most easily done through the use of yum, as follows:
  1. Launch a terminal:
YDL Menu --> Accessories --> Terminal
  2. Login as root:
      su - [ENTER]
  3. Configure yum
  4. Then upgrade the packages:
      yum upgrade [ENTER]
  5. Reboot.

The configure YUM step means to edit the three main YDL repos to point at 6.2 instead of 6.1.

The full list of repos for YDL 6.2 is included in this post:

viewtopic.php?f=19&t=3017

Also if you plan to use ps3bodega you'll want to remove all the others, including your existing ps3bodega.repo file.

Setting up ps3bodega for YDL 6.2 is much simpler than previous versions since you just install a "ps3bodega-release" rpm package which takes care of it for you. See here (after you've updated to YDL 6.2):

Powermac G4 1.25 GHz x2, 2 GB RAM, YDL 6.2
