sound card recording questions

what im trying to do is use audacity to record streaming audio from different websites but my question is is it possible with the PS3 sound card and or driver ? is is there a driver i can download to get it to work ? i looked at the alsa mixer (not sure the exact name) but would that help. i have desktop capture programs but i cant do them with audio i get errors and im not sure why. can you please help please

I haven't done it but I wonder if VLC might be a better choice for that ...

i looked up that alternative earlier but it wont work due to the fact that what i wanna record is not actually streamed radio stations i guess you can stay.there is certain sites where you can listen to songs but i dont trust the sites and i dont wanna download them.i use a website that converts youtube videos to mp3 but some songs are not on there so there are sites like user share etc and you can listen and download but i just wanna record whats being played then convert it.recordmydesktop works fine but for some reason it wont record the sound though. is there a command to configure the sound card or anything like that?

Sorry but I have no idea about that. Aren't there easier ways to get music? :?

LOL :lol: yes there are bu t many sites like myspace you can only listen and not download though that's what sucks and there not available anywhere else. mm i guess i have to do more digging around :lol:
