YDL and Blu-ray player

I have a 60gig PS3 that I've been thinking of putting YDL on for a while now. I did not take the update that disables this on purpose. But havn't installed it yet....
I mainly use the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player. does YDL support a decent Blu-Ray player?
my problem is that i recently bought a couple new Blu-Ray discs that will not play unless I update.
is there a player app under linux that'll allow me to play the new Blu-Rays?

Unfortunately, no. The hypervisor blocks access to the disc encryption keys, so you can't use the built-in drive for commercial DVD or Blu-ray playback. (If the disc is un-encrypted, you can play it back, but very few discs are released without copy-protection.)

P.S. External USB drives do not have this hypervisor restriction.
