anyone here ever used "ps3 magic", it seems they are survived.
Is it true to use them, one can install linux on "all ps3 models", as they said, which actually mean flat and slim?

My first thought is what I've said on this forum before -- that's a scam.

But no, I'm not using it and don't know anyone who has used it. Everything about it including what you find in Google searches just screams SCAM!

I see a quote in the FAQ regarding required FW:

11. What Firmware Do I need?

A : PS3MAGIC currently works only for consoles (regular and slim) with firmware 3.55 and below! When an update will be available (click to be notified) we will let our paying customers know as they are eligible to get free updates for life

So that makes sense -- slim PS3's would require illegal custom firmware to run Linux. "Regular" PS3s with firmware 3.15 and below are the only ones that retain the legitimate OtherOS feature.
