qemu for linux

I have tried many Linuxes using qemu on my YDL62PS3, only DSL worked smoothly, but the YDL62 runs much more powerful that makes the DSL useless. Anyone tried something else?
Plus: I got Q-emulator installed on my iMacg5, it comes with PPC support, but I tried put YDL62 and PPCUbuntu14 on the Q on OSX10.4, none of them is working, any advise
