It appears this is dead, but I will try anyway. I tried Ubuntu Mate and Lubuntu but both hosed the install and I was not able to boot linux after several days of effort. I have been a linux user of various flavors for about two decades, but I am no expert. I have a G5 Powermac with 2GB RAM and a 3GB HD. I have partitioned it with a bootstrap, OS X Tiger, /, /home, and swap partition. I used the text install and everything seemed to go fine. If I try to boot linux, it seems that the keyboard is ignored and I eventually end at a screen full of stack traces. Is there some collection of boot flags that will get me going?
