500 Mz Mac Cube - unable to boot YDL 6 DVD

I picked up a Mac Cube - G4 with 500 MHz CPU, latest firmware update. I have been unable to boot off the DVD and I even tried the older verions of YDL CD-ROM"s and also tried Fedora 9. I am stumped ! I tried holding down the "Option" Key, the "C" key but was unable to boot the DVD. The DVD works on other machines.

What I am curious is has anyone else ran across this problem and second, if you were able to boot off of linux finally, what was the solution ?

Took me 5 minutes to work out why my G4 Graphite I recently obtained would not read DVDs.
It had only a CD burner in it, not a DVD Rom/burner. I bet you have the same problem & you'll have to replace it.

Actually, it does have a DVD since the DVD is seeable under Mac OS X.
