Installation successful, volume not visible

I "successfully" installed ver. 6.0 on a G4 500. The installation was on a WD 9gig HD (Caviar), IDE. Jumper was left at standalone. On re-booting, the volume was invisible.

I read a howto on this subject (

Install is ok ... but won't boot

), but it didn't offer a clear solution. My drive was jumpered as standalone (and was). I tried booting with jumpers set as standalone and then as master, but neither worked.

Any help would be appreciated.
