Quick note regarding USB HD's and YDL6.1 installs

Unless you're planning on installing part or all of YDL to your USB HD, it might be best to unplug it, because it's very easy to click next to check the partitioning scheme while the USB HD checkbox is checked as well as ps3sda and it does "something" to the USB HD's FAT table, without a clear warning. Don't worry, I was able to restore it, but If I had went further into the install with that checkbox check it probably would have formatted it.

Yes -- the first time I tried installing Fedora 7 to USB I actually ended up spanning a logical volume across a 1 GB USB flash drive and a 4 GB compact flash card without realizing it!

Anyway, do be careful and make sure you only have ps3da (or is it ps3sda?) checked during the install process and not any other attached drives, or do as CronoCloud suggests and just unplug them during install.
