how to change default bootsystem

If you have problems installing YDL, or need some information before you start.

how to change default bootsystem

Postby dadonline » 27 Dec 2008, 15:09

I want to install YDL 6.1 on ps3. By default the bootloader kboot makes ydl booting default. Is it possible to change this to xmb by default? Is it possible to edit /etc/kboot.conf in this way?

Thanks for helping !

PS: I know, that it is possible, to change with ps3-boot-game-os. but most time we have no keyboard on ps3. So we would like to have xmb by default...

I don't know how to do that, but once you switch back to the XMB it will continue booting to the XMB until you change the default from there again. And I'd think you'd want a keyboard plugged in when you're using Linux.

Thanks - solved

I did worry about switch from YDL back to game-os. But there is a button in gnome to switch back to game-os. Then ps3 boots next time again xmb...
So there was no reason to worry...

Thanks for your answer !
