can't access hardware clock via any known method??

i get this message regarding the hardware clock and then the next line says something about

UDEV:


if i wait long enough, and with luck, it will eventually load into YDL but it takes FOREVER. how do i fix this please?

I get the same message, but it doesn't take very long to boot ... how long are we talking here?
PS3 60GB [CECHA01], FW 3.15, YDL 6.2, Samsung T260HD @ 1920x1200
Powermac G4 1.25 GHz x2, 2 GB RAM, YDL 6.2

I have the same Hwclock message. It also gives a failed when the system runs down, but doesnot cause any further problems.

Its a nuisance which should somehow be corrected in the near future I hope

Sorry - most likely it can't be corrected PS3 Linuxes - not just YDL - are not able to access the hardware clock directly due to the hypervisor that Linux runs under. Some hardware clock functions are supported - you'll notice that your time in Linux is correct - but other features are not, which leads to those error messages.

They're completely harmless, if that's any consolation.
