That's probably why.
When you download the ISO from one of the YDL mirrors - like this one:
http://ydl.oregonstate.edu/iso/There is a file there called SHA1SUM. Inside is a alpha-numeric value. There's also a file called SHA1SUM-HOWTO that lists places you can download the SHA1SUM utility.
You install SHA1SUM on your computer, download the ISO, run SHA1SUM on the ISO you downloaded. It will generate a alpha-numeric value. You compare that value to the value in the SHA1SUM file on the download site.
If they match you have a good download. If they don't - you need to re-download.
Since you bought your disc from eBay, I have no idea if it was burned correctly or not.
