Unable to recognize ISO file

Newb here.

I downloaded Yellowdog 6.1 ISO file to my mac. I want to burn this image and apply to my PS3 but when I open disk utility and try to burn the image I get an error message that its "unable to burn yellowdog 6.1.ISO" and says not recognized.

Any suggestions on why I can't burn the ISO. The image is around 1.8gb in size if that helps.

Well - right off the bat - the ISO is too small. It should be around 4 gig.

In the directory where you downloaded the ISO, there's a file called SHA1SUM. That file has a sha1sum value in it for the ISO. If you download a SHA1SUM program - also listed in the directory - you can run it on your downloaded ISO and compare the values. If they don't match - you don't have a good download.
