Can I bypass the loading of ohci1394 driver?

Postby zchryah237 » 16 Jun 2009, 07:05

Hi

I installed YDL last week. I also deleted YDL, for personal reasons, last week. I have been using YDL since version 3, and never had a problem with an YDL installation.

When installing YDL, this week, the installation procedure abends, bombs, dumps, throws an exception when trying to load the ohci1394 drivers.

Last week, my fireWire ports were operative. The YDL installation went well. This week, my PPC G4 fireWire ports are no longer functional. All of my chained fireWire devices no longer appear in the finder.app.

I recently seated a fireWire card. This card allows all fireWire devices to appear in the finder.app. FireWire problem solved.

To install YDL, as I am accustomed to for years, I remove all devices. In this case, I also removed the fireWire card.

The installation continues to abend, bomb, crash, dump, throw an exception, whatever. The installation does not load the ohci1394 drivers.

Quest.
Is their a command to bypass the ohci1394 load? I will not be using a fireWire device as a target.

Thank you in advance for your help.
