URL for yum upgrade ydl-6.1 to ydl-6.2

Please note that while YDL is made available to the mirrors on this day, each mirror has its own update schedule, some syncing data every hour, others every few days. Fixstars has no control over the speed at which YDL propagates to the public mirrors.

Does anybody know where to find the url for the *.repo files in order to be able to use "yum upgrade" from ydl-6.1 -> ydl-6.2?

is it worth it to upgrade like this? or is it just better to wait for the actual release in an .iso format? Does it make a difference?

'Gave "yum upgrade" a try - just getting a bunch of python errors so far - maybe the mirrors are not up yet...

I have a feeling the repo url should be of the form http://us.fixstars.com/resources/yd62-base-mlist

..but still no-go so far

"yum upgrade" has started to work now, but it drops out before getting too far - I guess the mirrors are overloaded...

Anyone been able to get the 6.2 to download work using the Applications/Software Tools/System Updater? When I try, the status bar gets to 1/4 inch and then hangs and it disconnects my wired / eth0 connection to the net.

I think that page may be outdated? Those are for 6.0. 6.1 had a different URL, and 6.2 has a different URL as well.

This URL:

Points to the same location as:

http://us.fixstars.com/resources/yd62-base-mlist

However, I don't see any RPMs on the mirrors yet ... you can pick any of those links from the above URL, such as:

http://ftp.yellowdoglinux.com/pub/yello ... /6.2/base/

The repodata is there, but not the RPMs.

Yep billb is completely right, the repo file list is present but no files are available to download hence why the software update process fails.

If you use terminal and type

su -

yum upgrade

You'll get to see what happens as it tries to find each file (which is just a bunch of 404 errors ... which translates to file not found)

So the RPM's are MIA for now.

Here's how I did it from 6.0 to 6.1.
