I also have tried typing install_ps3_ followed by 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480i. I have also tried typing ps3-boot-game-os and have just clicked on the enter button. Does anyone have a fix for this problem?
Why 6.0? Most of us are using 6.1 or 6.2 now - there are performance advantages for the PS3 with these later versions.
Anyway - the first thing to do is verify your ISO download with SHA1SUM. For the YDL 6.0 ISO, the SHA1SUM value should be:
- Code: Select all
f0862b7442e2f38bd01039ab6a6e28db84fe5ded yellowdog-6.0-DVD_20080207.iso
More SHA1SUM values are here:
http://ydl.oregonstate.edu/iso/SHA1SUMa quick HOWTO is here:
http://ydl.oregonstate.edu/iso/SHA1SUM-HOWTONote: For YDL 6.0, you should be using this ISO: yellowdog-6.0-DVD_20080207.iso
Another thing to check is how you burned the disc. Make sure you created the disc FROM the ISO, and didn't just burn the ISO to disc. (i.e. the disc should have multiple files - not 1 .ISO file.)
We recommend a program called IMGBURN for Windows users. It seems to work pretty well. Instructions are here:
